About Leah

Being a Mom

In 2013 I was only 20 years old going to Georgian College for my Child and Youth Worker program. My second year 2 weeks into my first semester I found out that I was pregnant with my daughter and never graduated. The odds were against me - young, no degree and about to raise a daughter. My self confidence was low, and I was constantly told I would not be able to achieve what I wanted. It took time and patience to get where I am today. I want others to know and believe in themselves to know ANYTHING is possible.

About Me: About

Breast Cancer Avocate

Doing what I can to change the world

In high school my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Years later my Dad's mother also had a lumpectomy done. I was daughter who, with no previous histories of breast cancer, now had it on both sides of my family. Growing up as a woman in this world was never educated on this subject. I have taken it upon myself to do what I can to ensure I an educated, and know what to do to keep myself, and now my own daughter healthy. I want others to know what they can do and be knowledgeable as women! I want others to know my story and not be fearful to ask questions.
